Recorded largely live-in-the-studio at Watson’s Lamington Recording (essentially his lounge), over it’s eight tracks ‘Dog and Pony Show’ captures the essence of Hay's honest and heartfelt approach to music. Backed by a stellar lineup of musicians including Watson on slide guitar, Steve Moodie on double bass, Craig Denham on accordion, and Delia Shanly on drums and percussion, the album boasts a real ‘down-home’ feel where Hay's vocals take centre stage, drawing listeners in and offering an intimate experience.
